You can increase your success rate at making money online by developing some key positive personality characteristics. Some people do achieve online business success with just good luck but those stories are few and far between. This article shares some examples of how positive personality traits can help achieve success in a home business.
Positive Personality Trait #1: Desire to Learn. Very few people have all the information and special skills needed to be successful in the home business industry when they start. It is those who have the desire to learn new marketing techniques, learn innovative technologies to apply, and learn from their mistakes or those of others who will stand the best chance of making money online. Owning a home business is an online adventure that just like an offline business will have low and high profit periods. Unfortunately many people try a home business with hopes of making big money quickly and do not enter the industry with the necessary desire to learn what they need to know to be successful. If you were starting a bricks and mortar business you would do the necessary research to develop a business plan covering all bases such as needed equipment, start up inventory, operating and marketing budget, human resources and required training. Approach your online home business the same way and you will have a much greater chance at making money online.
Positive Personality Trait #2: Healthy work ethic. Most employers in an offline business will place a higher value on employees who show up day after day with a positive work ethic. A healthy work ethic can differ from company to company but usually involves efficient use of time and personal resources, ability to follow rules (like being on time for work), and taking initiative to improve themselves or the company. There is no reason not to give high success value for the same positive personality trait in your online home business also. Making money online can be much easier if you are efficient with available resources and consistently work hard. Also, if you don’t take initiative in your business then who will? It is your business and therefore all the risks and benefits are yours. Risk mitigation and increased benefits can be achieved with a positive work ethic.
Postive Personality Trait #3: Resilience. Resilience or the ability to bounce back from setbacks is crucial to making money online. If your reaction to adversity is going to be to walk away from your online home business dreams then you are not going to see great success. The reality is that even with a mentor or a “perfect” business opportunity you can not possibly hope that everything will turn out well all the time. Likely you are in the business of making money online because you have a dream; resilience means you bounce back after experiencing a setback such as a marketing campaign that falls flat. The world wide web is truly a global opportunity with lots of resources and plenty of money making possibilities but there are also many pitfalls and obstacles. It is the entrepeneur willing to try a different strategy or even start over from scratch with a new idea after a major setback who will be most likely to succeed at making money online in the long run.
The greatest potential for making money online can be seen by those entrepreneurs who in their desire to succeed in their home business develop and nurture positive personality traits such as the desire to learn, a healthy work ethic and resilience to overcome adversity.
Antonella Barba is currently a contestant on the sixth season of American Idol. At the time of the writing of this article, she is in the top 16.
Barba is 20 years old, was born on November 26, 1986 and is from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. She is a 2004 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School in Red Bank, New Jersey where she was a member of the school concert choir and a member of the school’s doo-wop group.
In addition to singing, her other musical talents include playing the piano and the violin.
Before appearing on American Idol she was a junior at the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C studying architecture, but has had to temporarily withdraw from school to be in California for the show.
Like Clay Aiken’s fans during season 2 of American Idol who called themselves the Claymates, Antonella’s fans have dubbed themselves the “Fantonellas.”
As she performs each week, she can count on support and votes from her fellow students at college who gather in the college’s University Center to watch the live episodes that feature her. Antonella also has the unwavering support of her parents, two younger sisters, and younger brother.
She hasn’t been without controversy though. First, during Hollywood week tempers flared between Barba and friend Amanda Coluccio (they tried out together.) It started to look a little like the movie “Mean Girls” as Amanda got sick of working on their group performance and instead started hanging out with the male contestants which resulted in Barba getting angry and saying a few “less than complimentary” remarks that the cameras caught and, of course, showed on national television.
Then, several unflattering photos of Barba surfaced on the Internet and were quickly the topic of conversation on websites, in newspapers, on the radio, and on television. The photos that were of Antonella were private photos taken when she was with friends and at parties. The x-rated ones were later found out to be fakes. There has been speculation that an ex-boyfriend first posted the picture.
The American Idol producers officially stated they wouldn’t disqualify Antonella from the competition and the judges came out in her defense, most notably Simon Cowell who said the photos were her private business and that people should leave her alone.
Although Antonella has been singing since she was in 6th grade and did well during her auditions for American Idol, her two performances on the show so far have been weak. She has admitted to being very nervous and will need to get those nerves under control if she wants to continue on the show.
She may be avoiding elimination by a popular website that encourages voters to cast their votes for the contestant they think is the worst one in an effort to sabotage the outcome of the show. Currently, Antonella is their choice.
Her life has certainly changed since she became an American Idol contestant. Last summer she was like any other college student on summer break – working a summer job and hanging out with friends and family. Now she says things are “totally surreal…..I was home for a couple of days (a few weeks ago) and I took my sisters out to lunch….and there were people asking for my autograph.”
The United States Secret Service is an organization that is surrounded with mystery and respect. The men and women that serve in the Secret Service are truly American heroes, and the appeal to the excitement of their life is definitely appealing. However, being a Secret Service Agent may not be the life that you might see in the movies.
The Secret Service is actually one of the United States oldest law enforcement agencies. It was started in 1865, and at that time, it was actually part of the United States Treasury Department. At that time it was brought about to help combat counterfeiting.
However, in 1901, after President William McKinley was assassinated, the Secret Service was asked to protect the president. From that day forth, things have never been the same. In fact, today the duties of the United States Secret Service have been split into two different avenues.
One is that they are responsible for the safety of the president, vice-president, and other important political figures. The other avenue is that they must guard the United States against any crimes that might threaten our financial security.
However, the Secret Service does not simply have cart blanch to do as they please. In actuality, there are laws that dictate exactly who the Secret Service may protect. Of course, the president and vice president are covered, but so are the families of these individuals.
The Secret Service agents are actually required to protect past presidents for the next ten years after they have served in office. They are also charged with the safety of visiting political figures, and any other individuals that the president may dictate need their attention.
A United States Secret Service agent has been guaranteed certain rights and privileges. These are all outlined in the United States Code in Title 18, Section 3056.
It states there that any agent or officer may carry a firearm, make arrests without a warrant for any crime that is committed in their presence. It also states if they have a reasonable belief that a crime has been committed, they may execute warrants, investigate any fraudulent identification documents, and they may even offer rewards for information.
To become a United States Secret Service Agent takes quite a bit of time. First and foremost, any applicant MUST be a United States citizen. At the time of application, there is a fair amount of paperwork to be completed. After that, any candidate will need to go through a comprehensive background investigation before even being given an appointment to interview. Typically, this will take anywhere from six to nine months to complete.
Due to the sensitive nature of this type of work, they need to be sure that they are hiring top-notch individuals. From there if you are hired, you will proceed through a litany of different types of training. Any United State Secret Service Agent is trained to be the best of the best, and nothing less than that is accepted. In the long history of the United States Secret Service, nothing less than that has been seen.
A secret service agent career is indeed a career worthy of consideration for those seeking an exciting career path. If you are interested, I urge you to look deeper into it. You can do so by visiting websites which cover the career in more detail.
