This is the situation.
Person A applied for an top secret clearance in January and recently got an interim top secret clearance. This February, he decides to marry his girlfriend, who is graduating from school this May under an F1 visa. They are planning to get married on their anniversary. On his application, they were considered a spousal relationship since they have been living together for almost 6 months. Will marrying her reflect badly on his application? Or will it not change his application since they are just making the “spousal relationship” official?
The spouse is from the Philippines. She actually came here on a diplomatic visa. Her father worked for the Philippine government, which assigned him to a post in the US.
